Lyman Whitaker is an American sculptor whose studio is near Zion National Park in Utah. Whitaker has been a working sculptor for more than 50 years and is known worldwide for his kinetic art, which he calls Wind Sculptures.
Whitaker’s early work consisted of largely representational sculpture, varying from traditional bronzes, to small mobiles and public fountains. During the past 40 years he has primarily focused on creating Wind Sculptures, which are handmade works that respond to the changing currents of the wind. His compositions vary from single, 5 foot (1.5 m) tall pieces to Wind Forests consisting of groups of sculptures standing up to 35 foot (11 m) tall.[1]
Whitaker is in the collections of the City of Boston, Disney World, Apple TV, the Dallas Arboretum, the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, thousands of private collectors worldwide. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more. We’d be honored to have you as a client too.
